Mark the 3rd Katrinaversary & Help Rebuild Louisiana's Coastal Lines of Defense

Want to help ensure a sustainable recovery for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast? Mark your calendar to head to our house party to protect the Gulf's natural storm defenses!

The third anniversary of Katrina is fast approaching but the Gulf Coast and its communities still need help. Levees are just not enough to protect coastal communities from powerful hurricanes. Natural storm defenses, such as wetlands, coastal forests, and barrier islands, are essential to the survival of these vibrant Gulf Coast communities yet every 35 minutes we lose a football fields worth of wetlands to erosion. Strong leadership is required to restore the coastal wetlands and you can help convince our nation's leaders to take action by joining me at a screening of "New Orleans:Past, Present, Future?" by Walter Williams.

Bring a dish to share with a New Orleans theme. Children are welcome. Feel free to invite others to come along. I look forward to seeing y'all.
