Admission Resources for Alumni

Student Life

Alumni Parents of Prospective Students:

Created in 2022 for Tulane alumni families with students pursuing the college application process, and led by former admission staff with 20 years of experience, Alumni Relations supports an Alumni Admission Program, a college planning experience with resources and an online community to connect with other families in a similar stage.
Through the program, alumni families gain access to:

  • An online group, “Parent Connection,” for alumni families to learn about admission-related topics from our Director of Alumni Admission Programs. Alumni parents may sign up by following the three steps below.
     - Create a Tulane Connect account
     - Search “TAA Parent Connection” within Communities
     - Request to join the group
  • Timely and relevant updates on Undergraduate Admission’s in-person & virtual events to support engagement and awareness throughout the admission process

Prospective Students of Alumni:

The incredible history and trajectory of Tulane University have solidified the University’s place among the greatest academic research institutions in the country. Consistently ranked among the top 50 Universities by U. S. News and a member of the elite Association of American Universities, Tulane is recognized for academic excellence that harmonizes with a student life unlike any other. It is this balance that leads many children and grandchildren of Tulane alumni to include Tulane in their college process.

Legacy applicants are encouraged to submit their information to keep the Office of Advancement informed.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission provides helpful information for all students on their website.

Alumni who wish to send a recommendation letter on behalf of a prospective student may email the letter as an attachment to Undergraduate Admission and copy Valerie Calenda. The student’s full name and other identifying information such as a home address or date of birth will assist in matching the recommendation letter with the proper application file. The only recommendation letter required for admission consideration is the high school counselor recommendation. Additional letters of recommendation are optional.
