Crawfest to return to uptown campus with special tent for alumni

Crawfest stands out as one of the best times of the year on Tulane’s uptown campus, usually offering perfect weather plus the chance for friends to come together to enjoy music, camaraderie and, of course, delicious crawfish.

Now, alumni have the exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets for a special VIP tent.

Scheduled for April 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Berger Family Lawn, the student-run festival promises a day full of entertainment and community spirit.

The exclusive alumni tent, accessible from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature comfortable seating and provide crawfish, beer and soft drinks.

Angel Carter (SLA ’19, SoPA *21, PHTM *26) has returned to campus for Crawfest the past two years and plans to attend this year. “It’s a really great opportunity to see some really great artists, to be a part of the Tulane community and meet some new and old friends,” says Carter. Presently, she works at the National KIPP Foundation and serves as the director for the Goldberg Scholars Program for College and Career Success. Also, she has recently been named director of partnerships at Glass Half Full, an organization helmed by two fellow Tulane alums.

Carter is enthusiastic about encouraging alumni to revisit campus for Crawfest. “Crawfest during our undergraduate careers was such a premier event that we all attended,” she says. “And I think as alums sometimes we try to hold on to that nostalgia a little bit — we really want to relive our college days. And Crawfest is the best way to do that.”

She further highlights the festival’s significance in reconnecting with the community, especially if an alum hasn’t been back to campus recently. “It’s just a really great opportunity to be a part of the community and see all at Tulane has done to grow because we know there are so many changes happening on campus right now. It’s just a really great festival to come and be a part of.”
