GK Ambassador Spotlight: Abigail Holland (SSE '23)

From growing up in Ireland and London to building a career in marketing and pursuing a future in education, Abigail Holland (SSE ’23) has embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and stay connected to the Tulane community as a GOLD Krewe Ambassador in New England.

“Growing up in Europe sparked my love of exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and meeting people from all walks of life.”

Born in Ireland and raised between Europe and Massachusetts, Holland was drawn to Tulane’s unique blend of academic opportunity, campus community and the vibrant culture of New Orleans.

“From the moment I toured Tulane and walked through New Orleans, I fell in love with the city’s culture and the incredible diversity of people and experiences it offers.”

At Tulane, Holland majored in psychology with minors in Spanish and sociology. She was actively involved in Sigma Delta Tau, serving as vice president of house management and on the DEI Board, and in TULA Ladies’ A Cappella, where she served as Event Planner.

“More than anything, these experiences deepened my appreciation for the connections and sense of belonging I found at Tulane.”

After graduation, Holland began a career in marketing, developing skills in project management, branding and communications. Along the way, she discovered her true passion.

“I realized that my greatest passion has always been education and helping others learn and grow.”

— Abigail Holland

This fall, Holland will begin pursuing a master's in elementary education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Throughout her journey, she has continued to lean on the connections she built at Tulane.

“I have seen firsthand how valuable the Tulane network remains after graduation.”

One of Holland’s proudest accomplishments as a young alum has been having the confidence to pivot careers. She was accepted into all four graduate programs she applied to and received merit scholarships from three.

“Looking back, I don’t see my first career as a detour, I see it as a foundation that prepared me for what’s next.”

As she begins this next chapter, Holland hopes to inspire future generations through education while remaining an active member of the Tulane alumni community.

“I hope to inspire the next generation of students. Helping children discover confidence in themselves can have a lifelong impact.”

Her advice for fellow young alumni is simple:

“The only thing standing between you and getting involved is taking that first step.”

“It’s okay not to know what you want to do, just try new things; you never know what you’ll discover or what passion you’ll find.”

Through her continued involvement as a GOLD Krewe Ambassador, Abigail demonstrates that the Tulane experience doesn’t end at graduation. The connections, opportunities and sense of community continue long after leaving campus.
