The Tulane Magic of Traveling Together
Ginny Wise reflects on Africa by Private Train
This summer, Ginny Wise and her husband, Kevin Wilkins, joined fellow Tulanians for an unforgettable journey by private train through southern Africa. The landscapes, wildlife and cultures were remarkable, but for Ginny, one of the most meaningful parts of the experience was the Tulane community traveling alongside them:
Kevin and I had a wonderful experience traveling through Africa by private train. It was such a unique way to see the region, and we loved the opportunity to experience the scenery, wildlife and culture along the way.
What made the trip especially meaningful was sharing it with our Tulane group. There is something very special about traveling with fellow members of the Tulane community. From the very beginning, there was an easy sense of connection and camaraderie, and as the trip unfolded, those relationships became an important part of the experience.
Tulane has always had a wonderful way of bringing people together, and this trip was a perfect example of that. We shared incredible experiences, wonderful conversations, plenty of laughter and the excitement of discovering a remarkable part of the world together.
Kevin and I came home with unforgettable memories of Africa, but also with new friendships and an even deeper appreciation for the Tulane community. That, for us, was part of the magic of the journey.
