Welcome to the Tulane Emeritus Club, a unique organization of exceptional individuals who have been part of the Tulane alumni community for 50 years or more. We are not just an ordinary alumni association; we are a symbol of enduring commitment and contributions that have shaped the legacy of Tulane University.

Through the Emeritus Club, we strive to foster robust connections among the 50-year and earlier alumni classes, highlighting their instrumental roles in Tulane University's proud journey. Our club creates a conducive environment for intellectual stimulation and social interactions by organizing diverse activities that align with our members' interests. We also act as an essential resource, providing access to travel and other pertinent services while facilitating crucial assistance to the University and other Tulane cohorts in their quest for excellence. There are no membership fees; your 50 years of association with Tulane is your pass to this esteemed club.


Become an Emeritus Club Member

All Tulane alumni are inducted into the Emeritus Club upon reaching their 50th anniversary as alumni. To commemorate this special occasion, a ceremony takes place each spring during the University's graduation festivities. This event provides an excellent opportunity for Emeritus members to strengthen their bond with fellow alumni and friends. As a member, you will receive a "save the date" notice and an invitation every year, giving you a wonderful excuse to revisit Tulane and New Orleans in the radiant springtime. As an Emeritus Club member, you continue to hold your place in the Tulane Alumni Association (TAA).

50th Reunion and Induction

We hold an annual Emeritus Induction and Awards Ceremony to recognize members of the university who have been part of the 50-year class. Through this event, we formally acknowledge them as Emeritus Club members. Click here for more information.

Engage and Enjoy

As an Emeritus Club member, you have the opportunity to partake in various social and educational events throughout the year. From our welcome spring party to the Christmas luncheon and unique Homecoming gathering, there's always a chance to connect and celebrate. Our club also sponsors parties at the Bea Field Alumni House before Tulane sporting events and educational events aimed at lifelong learning. Plus, you can join the Tulane Alumni Travel Program and participate in events hosted by alumni clubs worldwide.
 

Board Members, Structure, Governance

The Emeritus Club operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors of 20-25 enthusiastic members from the general membership who display an active interest in participation. You can find the current board members here. We welcome nominations for new board members from all corners, with the selection made by a majority board member vote. Submit a nomination here.
 

Outstanding Alumni Emeritus Award

The Emeritus Club Board of Governors annually honors one or two alumni with the Outstanding Alumni Emeritus Award, recognizing exemplary leadership, remarkable community contributions, and consistent support for Tulane University. The award is typically given to an undergraduate of Tulane University celebrating their 50th reunion year. However, in rare instances, nominations for individuals from Tulane's graduate schools can be entertained, subject to the approvals of the awards committee and the Emeritus Board of Governors. Dan Hurley Emeritus Award

The Emeritus Club of Tulane University has established the Dan Hurley Emeritus Award to commemorate Dan Hurley's remarkable spirit. This recognition is bestowed upon individuals who exhibit exceptional dedication, leadership, and influence within the Tulane community. The criteria for this award include a steadfast commitment to Tulane University and its Green Wave community, outstanding leadership and participation in university programs, noteworthy contributions to the Tulane community, and long-term service and support for the university.
