Gasparilla Bowl offers opportunity to secure victory, rally alumni and fans
Returning to bowl season is more than just an opportunity for bowl glory; it’s a time for the Tulane community to come together.
After a regular season with nine victories, the Green Wave Football team is gearing up to take on the Gators in the Gasparilla Bowl, held in Tampa, Florida. The showdown is set for Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. EST.
“We’re excited about our bowl opportunity and we’re looking forward to playing a really good Florida team,” says Tulane University Head Football Coach Jon Sumrall. “They’re an SEC team on a three-game winning streak, and we’re playing in a great location in Tampa. That will be exciting for our guys to play in that type of environment. It will be a great reward for our guys for a good season.”
Bowl games are fast becoming a Green Wave tradition with the team playing in a bowl game in five of the last six seasons. Alumni and fans are thrilled with the team’s success — and eager to celebrate gridiron achievement in the stands and at dedicated watch parties.
Tickets are on sale, and fans who wish to attend should act now. Seats will be assigned based on Green Wave Club priority point order.
There will also be great opportunities to celebrate with fellow alumni at an official welcome party and Alumni tailgate. More information will be available for both events in the coming days. Check the Bowl Central website for more information.
Tulane Alumni will also be holding watch parties for alumni. Whether cheering from the stands or from a Tulane Alumni watch party, fans can share the passion and pride that defines our community.
