The Tulane Alumni Association was founded in 1898 and our Board of Directors serves as a liaison for both alumni and current students, fosters alumni fellowship and makes the entire university closer and stronger. The board advises university officials on matters of importance to alumni and encourages alumni to attend events, participate in programs and support the university.
Any Tulanian who has completed at least 12 credits is eligible to serve as a member of the TAA board. Our members come from every school and college and all around the country.
Dear Fellow Tulanians,
It is with deep gratitude and genuine excitement that I begin my service as President of the Tulane Alumni Association (TAA). Tulane has always had a way of finding the right people at the right moment—and I believe that this is our moment to do something extraordinary together.
Like so many of you, Tulane did not merely educate me, it shaped me. I still remember arriving in New Orleans from New Mexico where I quickly found a global community that confirmed I was in the right place. Newcomb College instilled in me the conviction that every voice and form of leadership matters, a belief that has guided my work as a science educator, STEM advocate, and founder of an organization that aims to empower young women and increase awareness and knowledge about careers and opportunities in STEM.
What the TAA offers is unlike anything else in our lives: belonging—to a vibrant, global family of nearly 180,000 Tulanians who share your values, your memories, and an abiding love for the city that shaped us all. But belonging is not passive. It is something we build together, conversation by conversation, connection by connection, campus visit by campus visit.
My focus this year is simple: a Call to Service. Service takes many forms, from mentoring students and volunteering with local clubs to supporting scholarships or representing Tulane in your professional community. I invite you to lean into everything the TAA has to offer join a regional club or affinity group, attend a signature event that has a wave of energy only Tulane people can create, volunteer to mentor a student who is standing exactly where you once stood, or engage with our Career Services programming that opens doors for the next generation. There is no wrong way to serve. Say yes, show up, and watch what happens — for them, and for you.
Serving on the TAA board has been one of the great privileges of my professional life. I have especially valued reconnecting alumni to Tulane and reminding them that the TAA is not just a network, but a living resource. Along the way, I discovered that the TAA's commitment to its alumni does not end at graduation. Whether you are advancing your career, navigating transitions or pursuing new opportunities, Tulane remains a partner. The mission of the TAA remains clear and urgent: to connect, engage, and inspire the Tulane community in ways that advance the university and enrich the lives of its alumni. As your president, I am committed to strengthening that connection. This year, I invite each of you to find your form of service and answer the call. Speak to students, host an intern, participate in a Tulane Table, attend a networking or club event, advise a student preparing to enter the work force, or give to support scholarships to make a Tulane education possible for every student. Whatever your form of engagement, it matters and we need it more than ever.
When we serve our students, we shape future leaders. When we serve New Orleans, we honor the city that shaped us. When we serve one another, we strengthen the Tulane community.
I am humbled to lead this extraordinary association and look forward to connecting with you in the months ahead. Together, we are better.
Non sibi; sed suis.
Not for one's self, but for one's own.

Board of Directors Nomination Form
The Nominations Committee of the Tulane Alumni Association (TAA) Board of Directors seeks input and assistance in identifying qualified alumni as nominees for a Board of Directors position. Those selected will serve a two-year term; ideal candidates have an interest and ability to serve and support Tulane University in various capacities.
Board members are elected for a two-year term (July 1 – June 30) and are renewable for up to two additional two-year terms. Board members are expected to attend meetings in New Orleans at their own expense whenever possible (limited funds are available for alumni fewer than ten years from their graduation) or participate virtually, if necessary; serve on at least one board committee; make a meaningful annual gift to Tulane and serve as an ambassador for the university. If you have additional questions or would like to discuss expectations for board members, please contact Jered Bocage at jbocage@tulane.edu.
The annual deadline for submissions for the term to begin July 1, 2026, is October 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. You must complete and submit your form in one session.
Self-nominations are accepted. All nominees will be notified and asked to accept their nomination in November as well as provide additional supporting materials prior to committee consideration. If your nominee is not chosen for this year’s slate, please note that we will keep their nomination on file as a potential future candidate for the board.

Each year, the Tulane Alumni Association Board of Directors honors the diverse talents and accomplishments of Tulane alumni in their personal and professional endeavors as well as their service and philanthropic commitment to Tulane and our community. Dating back to 1973, honorees have been celebrated at an annual awards gala, which has been hosted at the National World War II Museum since 2014. The TAA relies on Tulane alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to nominate qualified candidates for each award, who are then selected by a committee of the TAA Board of Directors.
A candidate may be nominated for more than one award category, and the Awards Committee reserves the right to grant an award for which the candidate has not been nominated. While nominations may be submitted at any time throughout the year, March 15th at 11:59 p.m. Central time is the annual deadline for nominations to be considered for the following year’s awards.
