The Wave Weekend Experience at Tulane

Unique for its all-inclusive celebration over a single weekend, Wave Weekend at Tulane promises a good time for all - alumni, students, family, friends and fans - set amidst a spirited atmosphere bursting with Green Wave pride!


The Week Of
Homecoming festivities commence Monday with the traditional lighting of McAlister Auditorium and the debut of the Homecoming Court. The Tidal Wave student Homecoming committee plans a number of events to build excitement on campus, including concerts on the quad, comedy performances, merch giveways, and free food!

Thursday
Many Tulanians traveling to New Orleans from out-of-town choose to do so on Thursday so that they can hit the ground running for the weekend! Thursday (and Friday!) boast festive days on campus. Plus the Tidal Wave student Homecoming committee hosts their annual Homecoming concert on the Berger Family Lawn on Thursday night.

Friday
On-campus events during the day typically include:

  • A special event featuring President Mike Fitts;
  • Open houses in the schools and centers where you can visit with the deans, directors and faculty;
  • Lectures from Tulane's star faculty representing wide array of topics;
  • Information sessions for parents and families of current students;

Celebrations into the evening typically include:

  • The Tipping Point, Tulane's annual fundraising concert
  • Reunion class parties
  • Alumni receptions hosted by various schools and clubs
  • Annual student a cappella concert featuring several campus a cappella groups

Saturday - GAME DAY!
Tailgating on campus begins four hours prior to kick-off with food, music and Green Wave spirit everywhere! The Homecoming football game in Yulman Stadium features the crowning of Homecoming royalty during halftime.

Sunday
Programming on Sunday of Wave Weekend is kept light to allow for your own exploration of new spots in New Orleans or to revisit some of your old haunts with family and friends.

Can I park on campus during Wave Weekend?

Parking on campus will be limited during the week due to the influx of guests, but is available on a first-come, first-served basis. While you do not need a parking permit on Thursday or Friday, you must still respect all reserved, metered and ADA accessible spaces. You are most likely to find parking in the Diboll Complex Parking Garage on Ben Weiner Drive. We recommend carpooling or taking public transportation, taxis, or Uber/Lyfts.

Game day parking restrictions go into effect at 10:00 PM on Friday night before game day. All visiting cars must be removed from campus.

All parking on campus on game day requires a game day parking pass. You can purchase parking passes through the Tulane Athletic Ticket Office, while supplies last. CLICK HERE for information on game day parking.

I registered online for Wave Weekend. When and where do I check-in?

Wave Weekend Check-In + Registration is located in Pocket Park on McAlister Place adjacent to the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life (LBC). Registration is open on Friday and Saturday of Wave Weekend.

Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM
Saturday, 9 AM - 30 minutes prior to kick-off (Time TBA)

I did not register for Wave Weekend in advance! What do I do?

Stop by Wave Weekend Check-In + Registration in Pocket Park during the above hours when you arrive on campus!

Wave Weekend passes secure your access to the full line-up of events around campus on Friday (unless otherwise noted), our Hospitality Suite from 9am-4pm on Friday, entry into the Wave Weekend Tailgate Tent in Tailgate Village on Saturday (including food and beverage) in addition to your official Wave Weekend name badge and commemorative Wave Weekend beads. On-site registration will be available. Current students and children under the age of 18 are free of charge.

I purchased Homecoming football game tickets, but I don't have my tickets yet.

If you purchased tickets through the link sent from the reunions team, a receipt of purchase that includes your mobile tickets will be delivered via email at time of purchase from our ticketing partner company FEVO. If you purchased tickets directly through the Tulane Athletics ticketing website (TulaneTix.com), your mobile tickets were emailed to you directly after purchase.
