Alumni who have graduated more than 10 years ago are invited to take advantage of the Career Coach Referral Program, where coaches around the country offer a complimentary, 30-minute introductory session and discounted rates to Tulane alumni. These coaches provide guidance on navigating your career – whether you are looking to advance where you are, change direction, or engage in an active job search.

Tulane alumna Linda (Axelrod) Greenfield is President/CEO of Essential Career Counseling. She was awarded “Best of Year” by LinkedIn for Career Coaching and is an NCDA designated Certified Master of Career Services. Her mission is to provide clients with the self-knowledge and corresponding personalized career information to move forward with a focus on results. Mauri Schwartz Tulane/Newcomb alumna Mauri Schwartz founded Career Insiders to enable individuals to achieve their career goals. Mauri teaches clients how to create a compelling narrative of their relevant accomplishments and how to present their story convincingly in an interview to land the job. 

She has had outstanding success providing job seekers with personal branding materials (resume, LinkedIn), strategies to get the hiring manager’s attention, and interview coaching through personalized attention, ensuring that each client’s accomplishments are translated into an image that is uniquely theirs. She is a popular speaker at career events for universities, professional associations, and corporate engagements. According to her clients, “Her secret sauce really works!” 

Mauri has a BS in Mathematics from Tulane/Newcomb and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Mike Thompson

Mike Thompson

Mike is a seasoned professional with over 20 years working in the areas of training & development, talent development, leadership and executive development, talent management, organizational development and consulting, and coaching. For half those years, he led teams of professionals responsible for managing leadership and professional development programs and services in large organizations. He has worked in a variety of industries, including insurance & financial services, healthcare, hospitality (restaurants), public transit, consumer electronics, automobiles, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. He has worked with both domestic companies, as well as foreign-owned firms (Spain & Japan). 

Regarding coaching, Mike has served as both an internal and external coach for much of his career, supporting leaders at all organizational levels – from first-time supervisors to seasoned executives. His work in various industries and has helped him accumulate a set of rich experiences in understanding individual and organizational success. With his undergraduate degree in psychology and his MBA, he is passionate about helping leaders navigate through complex organizational dynamics to achieve professional and career success. Much of his coaching experience has focused on emotional intelligence, leadership branding, executive presence, team leadership, influence, cross-cultural effectiveness, and DEI. In his coaching work with leaders, Mike likes to utilize a “strengths-based approach,” helping leaders assess and explore their unique strengths to maximize their leadership effectiveness and impact. 

Mike earned his un undergraduate degree in Psychology from Tulane University, and his MBA from the University of Virginia. Looking to continuously build his skills, he has earned professional certifications in several areas including leadership coaching, 360֯ and 180֯ leadership assessments, personality assessments, facilitation, instructional design, human capital strategy, Servant Leadership and Emotional Intelligence. 

He and his wife and two young adult children reside in Los Angeles County. Growing up near Hollywood, Mike has always been an avid movie fan. In addition, he enjoys reading, travel, tennis and cycling.

Pamela Weinberg

Pamela Weinberg

Pamela is a Certified Career Management Coach (CCMC) and Personal Branding Strategist working with individuals in all stages of career development. She specializes in helping people make career transitions and has had success working with a myriad of populations including Millennials, women in transition, and career changers. Helping clients build their personal brands to become the stand-out candidate or professional in their chosen field is what she does best. Pamela provides a wide range of services for clients including: personal branding strategy, executive coaching, LinkedIn profile development; interview preparation and job search techniques.

Pamela runs workshops and seminars for universities, corporations, professional organizations and non-profits on a variety of topics including: “Millennials and Managers,” “Building your Professional Brand,” “Personal Branding for Job Search” and “Redefining your Professional Identity after Raising a Family.” In addition, she leads Career Development Groups at corporations to provide professional development and branding support for key employees. She has been featured on the “Today Show” and “CBS This Morning” and is frequently quoted in the media on career-related topics.

Prior to becoming a career coach, Pamela co-wrote the best-selling New York City parent’s resource guide City Baby. The book is in its fourth edition (2010) and has also been published in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago and DC. Always an advocate for moms, Pamela spoke frequently on parenting-related topics and was often quoted in the media on New York City family life. She is also the proud parent of a 2019 Tulane graduate.

Tulane Alumna Sarah McAllister is a licensed clinical social worker and professional career coach with 15+ years of experience working inhigher education, non-profits, and volunteer management. Her professional journey has allowed her to support many individuals through life transitions, including career changes. Sarah combines her passion for mental health and career coaching to help individuals explore and create work-life relationships that truly align with their values and aspirations.
