Tulane has many special traditions and programs that connect alumni and friends to the rich culture of Tulane and New Orleans. The Office of Alumni Relations supports a series of Signature Events designed to invoke nostalgia for our city and university’s culture and community.
Welcome TU [Your City]
As part of a slate of events programmed by the Office of Alumni Relations, clubs from around the country are invited to participate in this informational reception about staying connected to Tulane as an alum. This event provides clubs with the opportunity to welcome all Tulane Alumni new to their region and to announce upcoming events on the club calendar. This is a good opportunity to meet new and/or unconnected alumni in your city.
Mardi Gras Events
Tulane Alumni in cities across the world come together for happy hours, live music events, and even galas in celebration of the New Orleans Mardi Gras season. Each event is hosted by a regional club and promoted by the TAA which also contributes King Cakes and Mardi Gras beads to the festivities. Unique in its ability to transport alumni back to New Orleans, this annual Carnival tradition is truly cherished by alumni everywhere.
Crawfish Boils
Tulane Alumni love the food of New Orleans, especially in the springtime when the city is filled with the smell of a good crawfish boil at every turn. In this spirit, regional clubs across the country host their own boils in homes, restaurants, and event venues throughout the season. Each region provides its own spin on the tradition, but guests can bet on good food, some Tulane swag, and that New Orleans spirit no matter what!
Give Green Club Challenges
The challenge invites clubs to compete in a per capita participation race among regions of similar size, contending for a funded special celebratory event and bragging rights as Give Green Clubs Challenge Champions.
Outreach Tulane
The Tulanian spirit of service remains strong long after graduation. Volunteers are encouraged to research service opportunities in their regions and to invite fellow alumni to join in for a cause. 5K runs, Habitat for Humanity, and charitable drives are a few of the many service events that are successful and meaningful for Tulane alumni around the world.
